Anjur Ascent Ultra
About the Event
Anjur Ascent Ultra (A2U) takes place in the rugged Anjur terrain, offering a trail running event centered on endurance via a unique time-based hill loop format. Runners advance by completing loops within strict hourly limits, prioritising discipline, consistency, and mental strength rather than speed or fixed distance. Each loop covers about 2.2 km- 1.1 km of ascent gaining roughly 150 meters of elevation, followed by a 1.1 km descent - starting and finishing at the base corral with aid stations available every loop.
The race structure is straightforward and demanding: all runners begin together at the top of each hour and must finish two loops within that hour. Returning to the corral before time expires is mandatory; failure to do so eliminates you from continuing. Surviving runners restart as a group the next hour, with no DNF tagging - your total effort defines your result. This setup promotes smart pacing, recovery, and sustained rhythm on technical trails, forest paths, rocky sections, and natural terrain.
Well-supported with safety protocols and eco-conscious Leave No Trace practices, Anjur Ascent Ultra creates a fair, community-driven challenge for those ready to test their limits in a raw, immersive environment.
