Kondaveedu Trail Run
About the Event
Kondaveedu Trail Run is an extraordinary adventure through the scenic Kondaveedu Reserve Forest in Guntur district. This unique event offers a 100% natural trail course winding through forest paths, rocky terrains, and panoramic hill views—no tarmac, just pure wilderness.
The trail traverses the Kondaveedu Reserve Forest in Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh, located 3 km south of the historic Kondaveedu Fort near villages like Chowdavaram, Malepalle, and Sigasganipeta. At 207 meters elevation, this protected reserve has safeguarded dense vegetation and medicinal plants since 1898, featuring an Ayurveda-themed arboretum.
Kondaveedu's rich heritage adds profound significance to the run. This 14th-century hill fort, built by the Reddy dynasty, served as their capital and a stronghold protecting Telugu culture after the Kakatiya Empire's fall. The fort witnessed battles with the Vijayanagara Empire and later Bahmani and Golkonda rulers, while flourishing as a center for Telugu literature, temple architecture, and learning under Reddy patronage.
Today, Kondaveedu stands as a symbol of Telugu heritage, preserved as a historical site and proposed for UNESCO World Heritage status. Experience this breathtaking blend of natural beauty and cultural legacy in an unforgettable trail running adventure.
