The Ladakh Umlingla Challenge is the world’s highest ultra marathon, staged at a staggering altitude of 5,799m on the legendary Umling La pass. Part of the Summit or Surrender extreme-altitude series, this race is designed for the most resilient endurance athletes, combining breathtaking Himalayan landscapes with oxygen-thin air and arctic winds.
Born from the vision that mountains don’t define limits—you do—the event has grown responsibly from just two runners in its first edition to a select field of finishers recognized by Guinness World Records and the International Book of Records. With categories ranging from 10K to 70K, every distance demands acclimatization, technical skill, and mental toughness.
