Matheran Ultra
About the Event
Matheran Ultra takes place in one of India's smallest yet most historically significant hill stations. Discovered in 1850 by Hugh Poyntz Malet as a British summer retreat, Matheran maintains untouched beauty as an eco-sensitive zone with no motor vehicles, ensuring serene, pollution-free environments.
The hill station features UNESCO-listed heritage toy train attractions, rich biodiversity, scenic viewpoints, and colonial-era architecture that continues captivating visitors and nature lovers. Matheran's car-free environment, lush green trails, and breathtaking views provide perfect terrain for trail runners and adventure enthusiasts.
Organised by Run Monks in pursuit of unique ultra-running experiences, this January event offers 30k with 1,000m elevation and 50k with 2,338m elevation gain. The race challenges the body whilst enriching the soul, creating unmatched ultra experiences in India's most exclusive eco-sensitive hill station.
