About the Event
Called “The World’s Most Beautiful Marathon” by Runners World, Mt. Everest Challenge Marathon is run along the Sandakphu ridge line footpath starting at 11,815 feet and offering spectacular mountain views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu. The 26-mile (42 km) course includes a significant elevation gain of 1127 meters and a descent of 2735 meters, finishing at Rimbik (2235 meters).
The race is held alongside the Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race, and the route traverses lush jungle and remote villages, providing a scenic yet challenging experience.
The Mt. Everest Challenge Marathon is noted for its mix of high-altitude running, stunning Himalayan vistas, and cultural immersion, making it a unique and demanding race on the global trail running calendar.
