Naneghat Ultra
About the Event
Naneghat Ultra leads runners through a historic mountain pass in the Western Ghats, once the vital link between the Konkan coast and the Deccan plateau. The course traces ancient stone-laid paths and passes the renowned Naneghat cave, adorned with Brahmi inscriptions and some of the world’s earliest numeration symbols. Here, runners experience first-hand the enduring legacy of the Satavahanas and Vedic traditions.
Organised by Run Monks, Naneghat Ultra is more than a race; it is a tribute to Marathi heritage and the raw natural beauty of the Sahyadris. The single 30km route, with an elevation gain of 955m, challenges participants with misty plateaus, rugged forest trails, and dramatic monsoon views - offering a demanding and rewarding journey.
This unique ultra-running experience invites trail enthusiasts to relive history and explore landscapes that once shaped traders and travellers, providing a blend of cultural immersion and true mountain adventure in Maharashtra.
