About the Event

The Silk Route Ultra Trail follows the erstwhile Silk Route, a historic trade route dating from the second century BC until the 14th century AD. This legendary path stretched from Asia to the Mediterranean, traversing China, India, Persia, Arabia, Greece, and Italy, earning its name from the heavy silk trading during that period.

The April ultra marathon traces the main trading route through Kinnaur, Rampur, Narkanda, Shimla, and Kalka, reaching Delhi. With road development, this ancient route became forgotten history. The 2025 event offers four categories: 13k with 710m elevation, 30k with 1,699m, 55k with 3,236m, and 102k with 6,691m elevation gain.

Organised by The Himalayan Expedition, this Silk Route Ultra Trail provides participants the chance to ramble through history on the long-forgotten route from Narkanda to Sarahan.
