Vayalada Trail Run
About the Event
The Vayalada Ultra Marathon invites runners to experience Northern Kerala's premier endurance challenge, returning for its third edition on 15 December 2024. Organised by Royal Runners Club Calicut in partnership with Responsible Vayalada Group and local residents, this certified ITRA event features demanding 30km and 60km categories with respective elevation gains of over 1,800m and 3,200m. Both races begin at Balusseri High School at the foothills of Vayalada, setting the stage for a true litmus test of stamina even for seasoned trail runners.
Participants will traverse stunning and varied routes, ascending Nambikulam Peak, passing through Mantanicheri Hills and Amard Waterfalls, and tackling the slopes of Kariyathumpara and Churathiode Hills. The adventure culminates at the iconic Vayalada Peak, rewarding every effort with spectacular hill station views and a powerful sense of achievement.
Whether you’re aiming for your first ultra or pushing for a personal best, the Vayalada Ultra Marathon promises a course that tests physical and mental limits. Recognised with ITRA certification and listed officially, this event stands out as a highlight of Kerala’s growing trail running scene, celebrating the spirit of ultra-distance running in remarkable mountain terrain.
